Pine Valley is located in Southern Utah, It’s a small town about forty five minutes north of St. George, which is the last city in Utah if you’re heading south on I-15 before entering that little corner of Arizona and then Nevada if you were heading to Vegas.
The Pine Valley Recreation Area is located in Pine Valley, and it’s a great place to visit during summer if you are trying to escape the heat of St. George, as it sits higher in elevation in the Pine Valley Mountains. Here you can find some great hiking, camping, and even some fishing if you want to relax next to the reservoir.
There are several campgrounds to choose from here and you can reserve them through recreation.gov. All of the the designated campgrounds have access to a shared bathroom and running water, which is great. Make sure to check on the recreation.gov site for more up to date information regarding the facilities and current prices for entry and camping. There’s also some dispersed camping you can do if you want to get a little further away from the main campgrounds but that involves hiking in a few miles if that’s something you wanted to do.
Overall, camping in Pine Valley was a fun experience, highly recommend if you are ever in the area. You have access to some great camping spots surrounded by the forest without having to hike in very far, it’s very accessible. It’s a great place to connect with nature and spend time with your loved ones.
